Opening Date

OK, 1 August was a little optimistic! We will officially open on 9 August. During the course of next week, our staff will be in training and we will be serving a limited number of customers to facilitate this. However, we ask folks visiting before the official opening to please be patient and bear in mind that many of our staff are untrained and have never worked before. We are trying to give them an opportunity they might never otherwise get.

The cyber cafe and cinema are running. For information on either, you can email superkitale@yahoo.com . The library should be opening in September subject to support from local authorities and potential users. We need to show sufficient interest in the project to get support and donations of books etc and to this end, it is essential we sign up potential members as quickly as possible. This is a very valuable service for Kitale but to get it off the ground, we need YOUR SUPPORT! Email librarykitale@yahoo.com for information or pick up a membership form from Super Cyber or The Coffee Shop. Without adequate membership, we cannot get the libarary off the ground. We would also welcome donations of books or other useful items for the library, eg films, childrens' toys or games.
